| Participation in baseball by blacks in ECI on the decline
A seventh-eighth grade spring basketball league at the Boys and Girls Club includes 30 blacks -- six times the number of players in last year's baseball league -- among 150 participants, Thompson said. Senior Davyd Jones is one of the better athletes at Central High School. He played basketball through his junior year, and earned a scholarship to play football next year at Ball State. He played youth baseball until the third grade. "When I was growing up, basketball and football were shoved in our face, and baseball wasn't," Jones said. "The interest level isn't there. I lost interest in baseball, and then I got interested in football." Jones said the only time he and his black friends pay attention to baseball is when they see highlights on ESPN's SportsCenter or watch the World Series on television.

Champ Car race quotes - Grand Prix of Houston
"It's just been a weird weekend overall. You know, it feels really good to be back at the top here. After a great weekend at Long Beach, you know, the first 1-2 with Graham, it has been a long time for Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing. It feels really good because the boys worked so hard last night. Like Graham was saying, it's been a long winter, they really worked their tails off. It's paying off. It's all to their credit. I couldn't be any happier. It was a pretty tough beginning of the race. And then Justin made it a bit easier for us. He got around Will. So I just had to give up that position. And then after that, we were saving fuel, saving fuel, saving fuel. And I kind of had the feeling that Justin might have been struggling a little bit to make the fuel mileage, so I just kept the pressure.
Woman Claims Yahoo Owes Her $20 Million For Using Her Photo
Late last year, New England Patriots star quarterback Tom Brady sued Yahoo after he found out that Yahoo was using his photograph in an advertisement for their fantasy sports service. Whether or not you think Yahoo can make an argument for using the photograph, you can sort of see where Brady is coming from. As a superstar sports player, he commands a ton of money for endorsing products, and people could interpret his image as endorsing Yahoo's service. However, it's hard to make much sense of some random woman in Ohio deciding to sue Yahoo for $20 million over a similar infraction. Apparently, the woman discovered a photo of herself being used in the sign-up confirmation email for Yahoo's email system. She's retained 3 separate law firms to push the case forward, claiming her right of publicity was violated.
